The European Office falls under the Marketing unit, and is responsible for developing and executing all marketing, sales, and communication strategies, policies, and plans for the A.T.A. and the Aruba brand as well as executing all marketing-related activities in the market.
We are looking for a Junior Social Media Manager for our Europe Office based in The Hague, Netherlands. The Junior Social Media Manager forms part of A.T.A. Europe and is responsible for creating and implementing a social media communications plan to increase brand awareness and engagement. The role also entails the effective management of A.T.A.’s social media presence across various platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The Junior Social Media Manager reports to the Sales & Marketing Manager Europe.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of social media strategies (mostly organic), including planning, content calendars, scheduling of posts and engages with followers;
- Implements social media policies;
- Monitors, analyzes and reports on social media metrics and uses data-driven insights to improve engagement reach, and conversion rates;
- Conducts research to identify target audiences, stays up to date on industry trends, competitor activities, and new social media features and algorithms to inform social media strategies and tactics;
- Is responsible for content strategy execution for social media (planning what type of content to post, incl. text, images, videos, the tone, style and frequency of posts) that align with the brand;
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing communication team) to align social media strategies with broader business goals and campaigns;
- Collaborates with marketing communications teams to ensure messaging consistency and alignment with destination branding;
- Engages with online communities to increase brand awareness, generate user-generated content, and foster relationships with key stakeholders;
- Monitors and responds to customer inquiries and feedback on social media channels and/or any other online customer service application in a timely and professional manner, and escalates issues as needed;
- Monitors social media and online channels for community feedback and engagement with the destination;
- Builds and maintains relationships with key community stakeholders, such as local businesses and organizations;
- If applicable, can leverage collaborations with influential travel bloggers, vloggers, and social media personalities to co-create authentic and compelling content;
- Is aware of the on-island presence of influencers and shares their content if appropriate and/or relevant to expand our brand reach and increase engagement;
- Complements paid social media campaigns to boost brand awareness, increase followers, and drive traffic to aruba.com.
- Bachelors’ degree in Digital marketing or communication, with a social media specialization;
- 0-2 years of experience. Must be able to present examples of Social media skills (creation of content);
- Knowledge of Digital Marketing;
- Expertise in creating visually appealing content (e.g., photos, videos, graphics);
- Proficiency in utilizing google analytics for data analysis and in monitoring and analyzing social media metrics;
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Project management platforms, Analytics platforms, Social media tools and platforms, Customer support platforms and others;
- Possesses a team-oriented and collaborative mindset;
- Ability to effectively prioritize and work on multiple tasks;
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of accountability/responsibility;
- Competent in negotiation;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent command of English and Dutch language both verbal and written;
- Command of German, Italian and Swedish is a preference.
