Sales & Marketing Manager Europe

 

The European Office falls under the Marketing unit, and is responsible for developing and executing all marketing, sales, and communication strategies, policies, and plans for the A.T.A. and the Aruba brand as well as executing all marketing-related activities in the market.

We are looking for a Sales & Marketing Manager for our Europe Office based in The Netherlands. The Sales & Marketing Manager is an integral member of the Europe team of professionals, playing a key role in the acquisition of new clients and projects. Additionally, the Sales & Marketing Manager consistently promotes the Aruba product in the European market on a strategic level. The Sales & Marketing Manager reports directly to the Area Director concerning performance and results, ensuring clear communication and alignment with organizational objectives. The Sales & Marketing Manager makes decisions regarding the creation, execution and implementation of marketing strategies and communications, both externally and internally, in the European market, and leads the Sales & Marketing team.

The responsabilities are:

  • Contributes to the creation, execution and implementation of marketing strategies and communications, both externally and internally, in the European market.
  • Promotes the Aruba product in the European market at a strategic level;
  • Generates leads for potential business opportunities through effective networking, nurturing existing relationships and cultivating new ones to expand the business network;
  • Fosters strong business relationships with partners both on island (hotel partners, activity partners etc.) and off island (airlines, online tour operators, travel agencies etc.);
  • Assesses business opportunities and identifies target markets and niche opportunities for growth;
  • Manages and follows-up on activities to ensure execution of defined and approved business ventures;
  • Collaborates with stakeholders, external partners, and cross-functional teams in the market and on-island for effective execution of initiatives;  
  • Maintains relationships with airline partners working towards frequency growth and exploration of new routes in conjunction with Area Director; 
  • Conducts training for the sales representation offices on how to sell Aruba better and improve the team;
  • Leads and manages the representation/ sales team and multi-line sales staff in his / her respective region;
  • Participates in key shows and events relevant for the destination and ensures these are in alignment with marketing objectives;
  • Takes charge of the execution and improvement of travel agent training platforms;
  • Manages the (offline) media plan.

The qualities we are looking for are:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, marketing or tourism related study;
  • Minimum of five years relevant work experience;
  • Tour Operating or Airline background (preference);
  • Knowledge and understanding of Business Development, Marketing and Sales & Promotion techniques;
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Aruba product, including effective strategies for the promotion of Aruba;
  • Knowhow or background knowledge of European region;
  • Skilled in organizing and coordinating activities such as business meetings, promotions, events, sales training, trade shows and others;
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills;
  • Proficient in Advertising agency management and digital investment;
  • Expertise in identifying business and promotional activities and the preparation of activity plans based on market information;
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Keynote and Outlook;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent command of English and Dutch language both verbal and written. German and Italian is a preference.
