The Marketing unit is responsible for developing and executing all marketing, branding, and communications strategies, policies, and plans for the A.T.A. and the Aruba brand as well as executing all marketing-related activities.
We are looking for 2 Senior Communications Specialists for the Marketing Unit. One Senior Communications Specialist shall focus mainly on international communications and the other shall focus mainly on the on-island communications to our guests.
The Senior Communications Specialist reports to the Communications Manager and is responsible for contributing to the development and execution of the global communication strategy of A.T.A., for facilitating global collaboration to ensure alignment across all markets (North America, Latin America and Europe), for reporting and analyzing data from all markets and for contributing to the organizational objectives.
- Co-develops, coordinates, and executes the global communication strategy in collaboration with the Communications Manager and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and responsible tourism principles;
- Reviews and aligns press and content creator programs with regional and global communications strategies to ensure cohesion and impact;
- Focuses on high-level oversight of communication activities, ensuring alignment with A.T.A.'s global communication strategy and objectives;
- Plans, coordinates, and executes PR activations for events with A.T.A. involvement ensuring seamless delivery with high engagement and visibility.
- Develops and implements workflows for structured communications within the department and the markets (North America, Latin America and Europe);
- Acts as the primary day-to-day contact for the global PR and communications teams (A.T.A. teams in North America, Latin America and Europe), ensuring alignment with regional and global PR and communication initiatives;
- Collaborates with communications teams across all markets (North America, Latin America and Europe) to implement consistent and effective pitches, campaigns, and tactics aligned with the island’s positioning strategy;
- Oversees the development of communication materials from content creators and agencies across all markets and ensures accuracy, consistency, and quality and provides support to team members regarding communications and content support as well as being a team player for the organization, fostering best practices and professional growth;
- Ensures a cohesive approach across all relevant channels (social media, earned media pitches, press and content creator trips, blogs, articles, content on Aruba.com) by the markets in accordance with the global communication strategy of the organization;
- Together with the global teams, co-develops and co-manages the annual content plan, overseeing development, distribution, and fact-checking.
- Leads the PR/Earned Media measurement process by compiling data received from the markets, analyzing the data to develop global PR and content creator reports, and presenting the reports if necessary;
- Leverages existing reporting tools and dashboards, ensuring comprehensive analysis and data-driven actionable insights, best practices, and emerging trends to optimize communications campaign strategies;
- Drives data-informed decisions and adjusts communication strategies in consultation with the Communication Manager to maximize campaign impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of PR, Communications, Journalism, Tourism, or other relevant field of study;
- Between 3 – 5 years of relevant experience;
- Proficiency in creating and refining written content;
- Skilled in project management;
- Organizational and research skills;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Creative with innovative approaches;
- Pro-active, result-driven, and able to switch swiftly between tasks;
- Independent worker, diplomatic, discrete, and trustworthy;
- Skilled in working with Digital and AI tools;
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft 365;
- Strong communication skills in Papiamento, English, Dutch, and Spanish (verbal and in writing).
